About the company

Brown Paper Circus is a new company that emerged when a group of Sydney based circus artists realised they shared a passion to tell stories that went further than the sheer celebration of skill. Whilst they embrace the physical excellence that contemporary circus demands they are driven by a desire to explore and develop new languages in the performances they make. Rejoicing in the virtuosity of the human body and interrogating narrative form, they create a space that offers a different perspective on what contemporary circus can be.
