Letters to an unborn child

Taking inspiration from Karl Ove Knausgård 'Autumn', Letters To An Unborn Child explores aspects of our lives which are both beautifully curious and devastatingly unfair. We find ourselves born into a world already made, with history ingrained and ideas set in stone. What are the lessons we are teaching the next generations? What are the stories being told? How do we celebrate the goodness of the world without glossing over the evil? This new work delves into our perceptions of the world around us, and how we face up to the inequalities that threaten the fabric of humanity. What is worth fighting for?

Brown Paper Circus uses the physical body, text, image, apparatus, and movement to create contemporary, compelling circus theatre. A resilient and forward-thinking company, they dive into a world of contradictions and seek to be a platform for voices, questions, and truths both gorgeous and ugly.
